Trying a new studio can be scary. But from the moment you walk into an Honest Soul Yoga you’ll feel at ease. Doors are open 20-30 minutes before and after every class. So arrive a few minutes early and the teacher of your first class will greet you at the desk.
Our formats are organized by pact, heat, and intensity (not levels); and because intensity is determined by you this means no class is off limits. We know the best yoga practice is the one you actually do, so just show up and do your best.
While you definitely can expect challenge, and in most of our classes a lot of effort and sweat, Yoga is not competitive. Yoga is a personal practice that can be made even more enjoyable with the support and encouragement of a group setting. Whether you know every pose, or every pose is new to you, you can participate in class working to the best of your ability and our teachers will offer both cues to modify a pose or if you need another challenge, an opportunity to change it up.
SCHEDULE ON THE APP!
Remember, a yoga habit is easier to create and keep, and is simply a lot more fun with the love of a yoga community backing you up.
So, schedule class from the app. It’s the easiest way to book class, and keep the promise you’ve made with yourself to practice self-care through physical exercise, mindful breathing, and meditation.
To download the correct app for your home studio go to the home page menu bar and drop down until you see your region.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST HONEST SOUL YOGA CLASS?
BRING: MAT, TOWEL, WATER, and CLOTHES FOR MOVEMENT & SWEAT.
Wear clothes you can move and sweat in. Form fitting clothing is most comfortable as baggy t-shirts and sweatpants tend to feel overwhelming and too hot for practice, and additional fabric can get in the way when moving through postures.
Water is welcome in the room and you are encouraged to drink water whenever you feel you ned it.
All additional props and equipment you may need for class are provided.
No mat? No problem! Mat rentals are available for $5 are available if you don’t have a mat. And mats are also for sale in every Honest Soul Boutique.
ARRIVE 20 MIN. EARLY
Arrive at least 20 minutes prior to class time. The teacher of your class will be at the desk to greet you, provide a quick tour of the space, and help you get set up.
All of our formats start and end on time; so we ask you to leave your phone, your watch, and your smartwatches in the cubbies so that you can fully unplug.
Every teacher will begin class with a welcome and arrival. Then you will move through a sequence designed by the teacher following the format guidelines of whatever class you attend.
Every class is a little different as the sequence and playlists are curated by the instructor. This balance of consistency and variety ensures that you can pick up elements of practice quickly, and continued to be challenged in a way that helps promote presence and growth.
SOAK UP SAVASANA
Every class ends with time in savasana. We ask that you stay the entire time… and trust us it is worth it. Savasana is the best part of class. Class closes together, and you will move into the rest of your day feeling the benefits of time in movement, breath, and meditation
BUILD A POSITIVE HABIT
Yoga blends of physical exercise and mindfulness in a way that can be felt both immediately after class, but is best felt over time through building a daily habit. We recommend starting with 3 classes per week, but with our comprehensive and cohesive menu of classes we are certain you can find a class that fits the needs of your body, mind, and spirit day-by-day.
STILL HAVE QUESTIONS?
Got a question? Just ask your teacher! You don’t need to be a yoga expert to come to class. In fact there’s no such thing! All our teachers also consider themselves students of yoga, and questions are welcome. During class teachers will offer cues to the entire group, and will also walk around the room offering personalized and specific instructions to students in the room. So feel free to wave someone over if you need more support, or feel free to linger after class to get a little personal time with your teacher to ask specific questions.
If you have any questions about a specific studio, rates, or how to get started email [email protected] or stop by the desk 20 minutes before any scheduled class.
